The spreadsheet you are downloading is in Sun's StarOffice(R) format. This is very much like Microsoft Excel but a lot more powerful and reliable. You will need to download StarOffice software from Sun Microsystems web site to use it.
This is a downside of course. The upside
though is that StarOffice is ABSOLUTELY FREE too!
It is also much better than Microsoft Office (that would cost you about $100) and, while providing all the same functionality and full compatibility with Microsoft Office documents, is much more powerful and reliable. It also offers multiplatform support and compatibility - something you could never expect from Microsoft.
ayway.8k.com strongly encourages you to visit Sun Microsystems web site and download the StarOffice software. We have no business relationship with Sun Microsystems whatsoever and have no interest in promoting their products. All members of our staff have been using StarOffice for about 6 months now and are extremely happy with it. This is a great professional and reliable product. All your documents created with Microsoft Office products will work with StarOffice, so you are not at risk of loosing your data.
For those of you who is still not conveinced,
there is a version of our tax software compatible with Microsoft Excel
(the standard version is not compatible because it is using some of StarOffice
features that Excel does not have). There is a $5 charge for it though.
And there is no direct download page (yet). You have to order your copy
by sending an e-mailour stuff
(please mention
your e-mail address and a day time phone number). Your e-mail will
be responded within two
business days.
If you have any problems using TaxSpread, contact us via e-mail and we will do our best to help you. Because TaxSpread is a totally free software, we cannot commit to any kind of 24/7 customer service. However we will make our best effort to be helpful and respond promptly to your requests.
